The Team

Nikki Berreth

Science Communication Specialist

Nikki is a science communicator and educator living in Vancouver. With a background in science and fine arts, she’s always looking for new ways to relay both scientific and technical knowledge to her intended audience. She aspires to help others reach their full communication potential and has co-founded several organizations that do just that! In the upcoming years, she is looking forward to establishing Science Slam Canada as a national platform for STEM communication and organizing a STEAM festival.

Alan Shapiro

Science Communication Specialist

Alan is a science communicator and environmental professional with over five years of technical writing, public speaking, and communication strategy experience. His career has taken him from academic research and technical consulting to science policy and communication, bringing a multidisciplinary perspective to his LitScientist role. When not helping knowledge holders tell their stories, Alan pursues his passion of sharing water science with the world. Alan is an avid hiker, a used book nut, and an unapologetic nerd.
