In Scientio, Veritas

A few quick words…

When not vociferously debunking pseudoscience of various stripes, I have been known to count amongst my varied interests – host immunity, host-pathogen interactions and pathogenesis of infectious disease caused by two fungal pathogens (Aspergillus and Cryptococcus), as well as general science communication. My views, of course, are absolutely and irrevocably my own.

Why In Scientio, Veritas? In admittedly faux-Latin, it means “In science lies the truth”. I do find this to be quite true, actually. Not the Truth™, of course. Science is a process, a process of joyful discovery of the splendors of the natural world — in a manner that is less of googly-eyed, but more of ordered and systematic. Science is about asking questions and allowing empirical evidence to inform and guide our opinions and knowledge. It really facilitates and simplifies our understanding of the world around us.

Anyway, that’s what I believe. Your mileage may, and oftentimes, will, vary. And that’s all right. I welcome you to look around, and read if you like. Do let me know what you think, but don’t worry if the comments don’t show up right away. I have had to switch on comment moderation. I beg your patience.
