AAS Nova strives to share current astrophysical research published in the AAS journals: The Astronomical Journal (AJ), The Astrophysical Journal (ApJ), The Astrophysical Journal Letters (ApJL), and The Astrophysical Journal Supplements (ApJS).

Our goal is simultaneously to gain broader exposure for our authors’ exemplary work, and to provide astrophysics researchers and enthusiasts access to a stream of curated and digested current astrophysics research content.

Highlights feature research articles that are selected because they are of particular importance or are of potential interest to a broad community. Highlights are brief, single-page summaries of the research and results, presented within the context of the field.

Additional selected research articles are featured in the Journals Digest, accompanied by single-sentence summaries of their results or impact.

AAS Nova also occasionally publishes Featured Images (especially interesting figures or images from recent papers, accompanied by brief descriptions) and AAS Publishing News articles (updates on new initiatives or changes from the AAS journals, ebooks, and other publishing endeavors). We also regularly reprint Astrobites articles written by graduate students.
